Artist and author Phil Yeh began publishing in 1970 at the age of 16. In 1973 the 19 year old student started his own newspaper called Uncle Jam that would last for the next 19 years under Yeh's creative free styling leadership.  Along with publishing a newspaper, he opened an art gallery in Long Beach in 1976 and continued to paint and write books.
